Andy Rafey
President
Andy Rafey has over twenty years of experience at servicing the needs of Defense, Government, IT and growth emerging and early stage technology based companies. He often works with executive teams and Founders as a consultant prior to any search being started, to insure smooth sailing along the way to a successful engagement. Andy’s clients include well-established firms such as Secure Computing, EDS, ITT, CACI and Charles River Associates and mid-sized organizations such as Sum Total Systems providing recruiting and executive coaching and mentoring services. Very often his clients and colleagues have referred to him as the walking encyclopedia and bulldog, for his aggressive, professional and thorough style in dealing with his clients.
Prior to forming his own search and consulting firm, Andy was a member of the Global Technology and Defense practices at Korn Ferry International and previously was Vice President at Gustin Partners, Ltd., a global boutique retained executive search firm, where for seven years brought his wealth of experience in senior level executive search, management assessment and employee relations. In this role, Andy worked extensively with founders and investors (venture capital and private equity) addressing the organizational and recruitment issues familiar to most early stage technology companies, and was focused on new business development and engagement delivery. His huge focus to detail and that he thrives on exceeding client expectations on time and within budget have helped make Andy successful.
Andy merged his first consulting practice with Gustin Partners in 1995. The first Rafey & Company was an executive search firm focused on early stage high technology venture funded companies. Prior to the founding of Rafey & Company, Andy was a Vice President and Managing Director at Bartholdi & Company, a global boutique retainer based consulting firm with offices in Boston, San Francisco and Vail, CO. He began his professional career with NEC Electronics in Mountain View, CA where he supported Corporate Marketing Globally for this Semiconductor and Microelectronics Company.
Through Andy’s search career he has also written several employee handbooks and acted as Vice President of Human Resources for his clients.
Andy is a member of the Board of Director’s at Northeastern University’s Hillel House a registered 501C-3 corporation and also a Life Member of the Board of Director’s at Camp Bauercrest in Amesbury, MA, an 80 year old boy’s summer camp.
Andy is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston and resides near Baltimore, MD with his wife Wendy and their little dog "Miss Fenway". They have three children: Eric, Matthew and Justin. |
